Senior Network Automation Engineer

Location: Remote, but candidates must reside near Miami, Austin, Pecos, Denton, Muskogee, Grand Forks, Calvert City, Marble, Dalton, or Auburn in the United States. Frequent travel of up to 50% may be required.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale network automation frameworks, platforms, and workflows.
• Build Infrastructure as Code solutions for network provisioning, configuration management, compliance validation, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Develop reusable automation modules, libraries, templates, and integrations using APIs, SDKs, and modern automation interfaces.
• Design and support automation across on-premises infrastructure and AWS, GCP, and Azure networking environments.
• Configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and monitor enterprise networks including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related infrastructure.
• Lead incident root cause analysis, technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring for automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, network operations, infrastructure engineering, or network architecture.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing network automation solutions with Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, Git, automation testing, deployment pipelines, and SDLC practices.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, network security, and high availability.
• Experience with Linux and Windows, enterprise networking platforms, troubleshooting, technical leadership, and communication in mission-critical environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale enterprise, cloud, service provider, or hyperscale networks.
• Expertise with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, observability platforms, or network telemetry.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN, leaf-spine architectures, EVPN/VXLAN, Zero Trust, Docker, Kubernetes, and Python network automation libraries.
• Relevant networking, cloud, security, or Terraform certifications.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time schedule generally runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Some nights and weekends may be required, including participation in an on-call rotation.
• Work takes place in a professional office environment and may involve sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
