Senior Software Engineer (iOS)

Location: J Street Offices, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States; the listed salary range also includes Sunnyvale, California

Annual salary: $90,000–$180,000 in Bentonville or $117,000–$234,000 in Sunnyvale, plus potential performance bonuses and stock.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and optimize advanced iOS applications.
• Build in-store and omnichannel features including Store Mode, Store Maps, Store Pages, customizations, and QR experiences.
• Lead end-to-end feature delivery and collaborate with backend and frontend teams on scalable solutions.
• Shape architecture for performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, and resilience.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, coaching, and best-practice adoption.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Design to turn requirements and wireframes into seamless mobile experiences.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 3 years of experience.
• Strong experience building iOS applications with Swift, SwiftUI, modern architectures, UIKit, Swift Concurrency, and Combine.
• Experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs using JSON/HTTP, with familiarity with Node services.
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including design principles, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with debugging, memory management, performance optimization, unit and UI testing, workflow automation, and code reviews.
• Experience with Auto Layout, dependency managers such as SPM, CocoaPods, or Carthage, and translating wireframes into pixel-accurate interfaces.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field.
• Knowledge of MapKit, push notifications, CloudKit, accessibility, App Store/TestFlight, and performance instrumentation.
• Experience implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards and working with assistive technologies.
