Staff Software Engineer (iOS)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; this position is open to applicants legally entitled to work in the country where the role is located.

Salary: $140,800–$168,920 per year

What you will do

• Lead the iOS architectural roadmap and establish production-ready engineering standards across the team.
• Define and improve code structure, MVVM/Clean Architecture patterns, feature flagging, pull request quality, and release processes.
• Own the iOS CI/CD pipeline, including build reliability, test coverage, code signing, TestFlight, and App Store Connect releases.
• Improve crash analytics, performance monitoring, reliability, and production incident response, including hotfix coordination.
• Design integrations with push notifications, deep and universal links, identity verification SDKs, and third-party platforms.
• Collaborate with backend, BFF, product, and design teams while mentoring iOS engineers across locations and experience levels.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional iOS engineering experience, including at least 2 years at Staff or an equivalent technical leadership level.
• Deep expertise in Swift and UIKit, including experience contributing to a large-scale UIKit-to-SwiftUI migration in production.
• Strong knowledge of MVVM, Router/Coordinator, and Async/Await patterns, with experience establishing them across a team.
• Experience owning iOS CI/CD pipelines, App Store Connect, TestFlight, feature flags, and staged rollout strategies.
• Hands-on knowledge of Keychain, certificate pinning, secrets management, App Transport Security, and App Store compliance.
• Experience with APNs, Firebase Cloud Messaging, or mobile marketing platforms, plus strong technical communication and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with universal links, deep linking, App Clips, accessibility APIs, and WCAG compliance.
• Experience with Objective-C or mixed Swift/Objective-C codebases.
• Background in marketplace, auction, or high-frequency transactional mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Android development, App Store Optimization, and App Store content strategy.
