Veterinary Technician II

Location: Lutz, Winter Garden, Fort Myers, Coral Gables, Delray Beach, or Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Onsite veterinary practice role; weekend work and some travel may be required.

What you will do

• Provide proficient veterinary medical care and support the practice team.
• Deliver patient care including blood transfusions, oxygen cage support, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Monitor unstable and high-risk patients while handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.
• Train and mentor team members, manage inventory, and handle client complaints.
• Use integrated practice technology as a PIMS administrative super-user and keep veterinarians updated on patient status.
• Maintain controlled-substance logs, follow SOPs and standards of care, and keep workspaces clean.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure is preferred.
• Ability to complete the Veterinary Technician III skills checklist.
• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience in practice is preferred.
• Strong client communication, compassion, verbal and written communication, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lift 50–70 pounds, with team assistance for heavier loads.
