Laser Process Development Engineer II (Laser Processing)

Location: Fremont, United States; on-site engineering and manufacturing role.

Salary: $87,400–$145,600 per year.

What you will do

• Develop laser and mechanical processes from proof-of-concept prototypes through sustained manufacturing validation.
• Plan and coordinate engineering studies, activities, and programs for standard production and new product development.
• Implement laser cutting, laser welding, and deburring processes for small medical components.
• Program motion systems, align optics, develop and optimize parameters, and troubleshoot laser cutting and welding processes.
• Create operating procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, manufacturing software, models, and other process documentation.
• Support equipment guidelines, tooling modifications, preventive maintenance, safety programs, and cost-improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least two years of experience in process development and/or laser processing.
• Experience developing and optimizing laser cutting and welding processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Employment visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates with time-limited visa status will not be considered.

• Medical device manufacturing experience.
• Experience with integrated, complex technologies and machines.
• CAM programming and development experience.
• Strong SolidWorks experience.
