Scientist - Biochemistry (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Portage, Michigan, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental analysis of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished pharmaceutical products.
• Independently operate chromatographic and other laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare standards and samples and conduct analyses with minimal supervision.
• Set up and validate new analytical processes and execute method transfer protocols.
• Document laboratory work in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Perform monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Familiarity with biochemistry techniques, electrophoresis, and chromatography.
• Experience or familiarity with aseptic techniques and biologic samples, including monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, antibody-drug conjugates, and vaccines.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation used in a biochemistry laboratory.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, scientific reasoning, communication, technical writing, and ability to work independently on complex projects.
