Level Designer (Unreal Engine)

Location: Remote in the United States

Develop games and franchises including Borderlands, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Brothers in Arms, Duke Nukem, Risk of Rain, and Homeworld as part of hirify.global.

What you will do

• Develop single-player and cooperative levels from design documents through final shipped products.
• Prototype, iterate, and polish moment-to-moment gameplay, combat, and mission experiences.
• Collaborate with lead level designers, the creative director, artists, mission designers, writers, coders, and other disciplines.
• Own the vision and quality of assigned levels while meeting project deadlines.
• Mentor junior level designers and share expertise across the design team.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and shipping large level environments, supported by videos, screenshots, or documentation.
• Understanding of level layout, pacing, technical implementation, and player-focused design.
• Strong aesthetic judgment and the ability to collaborate closely with art teams.
• Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience shipping a AAA title, preferably using Unreal technology and working on first-person shooters.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Shipped games using Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• Experience with console certification and shipping processes.
• Experience working with large interdisciplinary teams.
• Co-op or online multiplayer experience.
• Previous leadership experience.
