Staff DevSecOps Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site in San Mateo or San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $152,000–$228,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls across AWS infrastructure and platform services.
• Build hardened container and secure base images for engineering and production workloads.
• Integrate vulnerability, dependency, container, and configuration scanning into CI/CD systems.
• Automate security checks, audit evidence collection, configuration validation, and compliance reporting.
• Implement secrets management, identity, and access controls across infrastructure and engineering systems.
• Define reusable security engineering patterns and drive adoption across multiple teams at Staff level.

Requirements

• 7+ years of related experience for the Staff Engineer level, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience implementing security controls in AWS or another major cloud environment.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, automated provisioning, container security, and hardened images.
• Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD and managing vulnerabilities, dependencies, containers, or configuration validation.
• Experience with cloud identity, secrets, and access controls.
• Ability to automate security or infrastructure tasks with Python, Go, Bash, or a similar language.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Kubernetes security, workload identity, or container runtime controls.
• Cloud security posture management, policy as code, or automated compliance tooling.
• Software supply-chain security, artifact integrity, signing, or attestation workflows.
