Animal Food Safety & Regulatory Intern (Food Safety)

Location: On-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States; travel to hirify.global bioprocessing facilities is expected.

What you will do

• Learn how bioethanol production creates animal food ingredients and other bioproducts.
• Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to identify animal food safety concepts and training needs.
• Research FDA regulations, FSMA, cGMPs, industry guidance, and scientific concepts.
• Create scripts, videos, visual aids, quick-reference materials, and other educational resources.
• Interview subject matter experts and visit facilities to capture practical manufacturing and food safety knowledge.
• Support additional Quality and Regulatory projects based on business needs and interests.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Business, or a related field.
• Interest in animal agriculture, animal nutrition, food/feed safety, quality, regulatory affairs, or agricultural communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Curious, organized, collaborative, and comfortable asking questions and working with subject matter experts.
• Willingness to travel to hirify.global bioprocessing facilities and drive a hirify.global vehicle; a motor vehicle record check is required.

• Experience with PowerPoint, video editing, photography, graphic design, presentations, or other communication tools.
