Avionics Systems Engineer II (Aerospace)

Salary: $119,543–$152,749 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards

What you will do

• Define avionics project scopes and requirements with cross-functional engineering teams, guiding designs from concept through production.
• Develop electrical architectures, system diagrams, and budgets covering power, telemetry, channel count, size, and mass.
• Analyze avionics faults and risks, create mitigation plans, and support FDIR and operational workarounds.
• Develop verification plans and conduct system-level testing on flight and hardware-in-the-loop hardware.
• Support mission operations as an avionics specialist or system operator and oversee integrated Winnebago avionics investigations.
• Design, build, and operate HITL testbeds and avionics ground infrastructure, including test racks and R&D equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4–20 mA devices, and general test equipment.
• Must work on-site in El Segundo, California, and be a U.S. person authorized to access export-controlled technology.
• U.S. work authorization is required; hirify.global participates in E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience taking vehicle electrical systems from concept through operational production.
• Experience setting up HITL testbeds, managing configuration control, and conducting system-level tests.
• Familiarity with Unix environments, command-line utilities, test-case development, and vehicle-condition test equipment.
• Project or program management skills.
