Systems IV&V Engineer (Avionics)

Location: San Diego, California, USA; onsite work in office, warehouse, and airplane hangar environments

Annual base salary: $85,000–$90,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and test cases for certified avionics products.
• Translate system and customer requirements into verification activities and maintain requirements traceability.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and hardware/software testing.
• Contribute to certification, compliance, lab infrastructure, test automation, and process improvement.
• Maintain verification records, test results, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and program teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in systems engineering, avionics, aerospace, embedded systems, testing, or related technical environments.
• Knowledge of systems integration, verification and validation principles, system development lifecycle, and configuration management.
• Familiarity with avionics or embedded systems and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with Linux or Windows, plus strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Ethernet, ARINC 429, CAN Bus, or serial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, Python, or similar engineering tools.
• Experience with avionics certification standards such as DO-160 and laboratory test equipment.
