TL;DR
3rd Line Security Specialist - 24x7 Shift (Cybersecurity): Providing lead technical support for complex security incidents, network solutions, and specialised security products in an air-gapped customer facility with an accent on third-line operations, incident resolution, and SLA compliance. Focus on detecting and resolving high-priority incidents, coordinating major incident response, performing root-cause analysis, and supporting Cisco, Check Point, F5, VPN, switching, and routing technologies.
Location: Derby, United Kingdom; fully onsite with no home working. The role follows a 24x7 shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off, working 7–7, at an air-gapped secure customer facility.

What you will do
- Provide lead third-line technical support for complex security issues, incidents, problems, and changes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for a broad range of security technologies and specialised products.
- Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve high-priority security and network incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Lead major and complex incident response, coordinating calls and collaborating with designers and wider teams.
- Act as the operational point of contact for design and customer contract teams.
- Produce root-cause analyses and contribute to post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- Proven operational experience in network engineering and security operations specialist roles.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience supporting complex network solutions directly onsite with customers.
- Experience with Cisco firewalls, Check Point firewalls and IPS, F5 load balancing, Cisco WSA, ESA and ISE, Ivanti Pulse VPN, switches, and routers.
- Ability to lead and manage major or complex security and network incidents and drive resolution within agreed SLAs.
- Eligibility to oain and maintain UK Government Security Clearance at SC UK Eyes Only level is required; DV clearance may be required in the future.
Nice to have
- ServiceNow reporting and dashboarding experience.
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls and NetScout.
- Experience managing multiple incidents as the lead.
