Mission Analysis Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Identify, analyse, and derive technical, programmatic, and business requirements, constraints, and assumptions for current and future missions.
• Perform mission-profile and key-technology trade-offs, and model orbits, mission phases, manoeuvres, deltaV, launch injection, in-orbit safety, and re-entry for low- and high-thrust trajectories.
• Define Concepts of Operations and Operations Plans, and perform thermal, radiation, and illumination analyses.
• Perform space debris mitigation and in-orbit safety compliance analyses, and define and participate in verification activities.
• Support the flight dynamics team, tools development and validation, and future business proposals.
• Interface with internal engineering teams, institutional and commercial customers, partners, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in mission engineering or flight dynamics within the space industry or space agencies.
• Knowledge of flight and orbital mechanics for high- and low-thrust trajectories.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal engineering teams.
• Comfort interacting with institutional customers, including UKSA and ESA, and commercial customers.
• BSc degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a similar field.

Nice to have

• Experience in spacecraft operations.
• Research activities in astrodynamics.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards.
• Knowledge of space debris mitigation standards and compliance verification.
• Knowledge of rendezvous and proximity operations.
• Experience obtaining mission operations licences and interacting with regulatory bodies.
• Familiarity with the full space-program lifecycle, from business development, proposal generation, and contract negotiations through design, development, assembly, testing, and delivery.
• MSc degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a similar field.
