TL;DR
Associate Engineer - Ethernet (Automotive) (Python/CAPL, OTA validation): Validating software updates for vehicle ECUs and connected vehicle systems across test benches, HIL environments, and real vehicles with an accent on automotive Ethernet, UDS diagnostics, and automated testing. Focus on designing regression and end-to-end test cases, analyzing logs and traces, and identifying software update failures before release.
Location: Bangalore, Kalyani Platina, HII Engineering; onsite five days a week

What you will do
- Validate software updates for vehicle ECUs and connected vehicle systems in test benches, HIL environments, and real vehicles.
- Plan, design, and execute test cases for OTA and workshop-based software updates.
- Automate software update validation using Python, CAPL, test frameworks, and scripting tools.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing before software releases.
- Monitor update processes, analyze logs and traces, and identify defects, failures, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with development, system integration, cybersecurity, and vehicle testing teams; maintain test specifications, reports, defect records, and validation documentation.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of software update and release validation processes in automotive systems.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols including CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
- Experience with UDS according to ISO 14229 and Vector tools such as CANoe or CANalyzer.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test suites using Python or CAPL, Robot Framework, or comparable automation frameworks.
- Experience with test planning, execution, defect tracking, reporting, version control, and configuration management tools such as Git and DNG.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Lua scripting experience.
- Additional expertise in automotive software update validation, UDS, Ethernet, or Python.
