TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer - Automotive ECU (Automotive Mechanical Design): Developing next-generation electrical control units for autonomous vehicles with an accent on lifecycle ownership, PCB-mechanical integration, and high-volume manufacturing. Focus on tolerance analysis, mechanical simulation, DFM, FMEA, and collaboration with OEMs and tier-1 manufacturers.

Location: Ramat Gan, Israel; hybrid workplace

What you will do

  • Own mechanical ECU design from concept and detailed design through qualification, NPI, and mass production.
  • Integrate PCB and electrical design requirements, including PCB outline, height limitations, and keep-out areas.
  • Perform design-for-manufacturing analysis, mechanical simulations, and stack-up and tolerance analysis.
  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into ECU design specifications.
  • Collaborate with hardware, layout, thermal, quality, V&V, reliability, production, OEM, supplier, and tier-1 manufacturing stakeholders.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or higher, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of mechanical design experience in the automotive industry.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD, such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience designing mechanical components for high-volume manufacturing, including stamping, die casting, extrusion, and injection molding.
  • Knowledge of statistical tolerance analysis, CTF dimensioning, GD&T, DFM, FMEA, automotive standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
