Assistant Controller (Life Sciences)

Location: São Paulo, Brazil; on-site role

Annual salary: BRL 187,000–387,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Strengthen the financial compliance and internal control framework, including SOX compliance.
• Monitor monthly group closing activities, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Support finance digital transformation and automation using smart robots and AI routines.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and own the balance sheet review program.
• Partner with global finance leaders and regional controllers to provide accounting insights for decision-making.
• Travel globally up to 20% to spend time at Gemba.

Requirements

• University degree in Economics or Finance.
• Progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or audit, preferably in a multinational company or Big Four audit firm.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP, statutory regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Experience with ERP and reporting platforms such as SAP, BlackLine, or OneStream, BI tools, and advanced Excel.
• Process-oriented, hands-on team player.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Certification as a Tax Advisor, Chartered Public Accountant, or Certified Internal Auditor.
