Regional Director- Africa (Humanitarian Programs): Leading IsraAID’s Africa portfolio, Country Directors, regional teams, and multi-country programmes with an accent on country office performance, risk management, programme quality, and resilience. Focus on stabilizing complex operations, coordinating HQ support, managing crises, and strengthening donor and partner relationships across Africa.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Hybrid); regular travel to Africa Country Offices and headquarters may be required.

What you will do
- Lead ’s Africa regional portfolio and manage Country Directors in Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, and South Sudan, as well as the Africa Senior Programme Officer.
- Oversee country office performance, stability, operational risks, financial risks, reputational risks, and leadership effectiveness.
- Guide country strategies, annual workplans, programme quality, resilience approaches, safeguarding, inclusion, monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary HQ support through a matrix management structure and prioritize assistance for Country Offices.
- Represent the Africa region with HQ, partners, donors, stakeholders, and external forums.
- Support strategic partnerships, donor engagement, fundraising, and regional positioning across Africa.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in International Development, Project Management, Social Sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive international leadership and management experience in humanitarian or development settings, including at least 5 years in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Experience directly managing Country Directors or equivalent senior managers across multiple countries.
- Experience overseeing country offices, managing risks and performance, and operating in fragile or complex environments.
- Experience with multi-sector programme quality, significant multi-country budgets, donor engagement, resource mobilization, and matrix structures.
- Fluency in English is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of French or other regional languages.
- Familiarity with IASC guidelines and international humanitarian coordination structures.
