BMDS Specialty Systems Engineer (Missile Defense)

Location: On-site in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Standard work hours with up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Provide software engineering support within a multi-disciplinary missile defense team.
• Develop software products supporting system design, integration, and capability enhancement.
• Contribute to software architecture, design, implementation, verification, and documentation.
• Participate in technical reviews, requirements discussions, and engineering coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with systems, test, and integration teams on end-to-end development and delivery.
• Ensure software products meet program standards, engineering practices, and system requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• An active Secret security clearance is required for consideration.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5–8 years of relevant professional experience; a Master’s degree or PhD may substitute for part of the experience requirement.
• Experience with FMECA, software architecture and design, and development and verification of RAM requirements.
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize technical concepts in documentation and presentations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with willingness to travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• At least two years of experience in reliability and maintainability.
• Experience with risk analysis and risk management.
