Manager, Tax Projects (Sales Tax)

Location: hirify.global Home Office in Richmond, Virginia; onsite 4 days per week. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Salary: $104,200–$166,700 per year, with possible bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Act as the tax subject matter expert for strategic initiatives involving property tax, sales tax compliance, and audits.
• Develop and execute project plans covering risk mitigation, communications, documentation, and change management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to remove obstacles and support project execution.
• Lead testing efforts, define test plans, analyze results, and coordinate defect remediation.
• Build relationships with business partners and gain leadership and stakeholder support for tax initiatives.
• Manage audits, defend tax positions, and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of sales tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax departments.
• Expertise in process improvement, project management, and change management.
• Leadership experience, including associate development and team management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Access.
• Current United States work authorization is required; sponsorship will not be considered.
