Associate R&D Performance Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Perform finite element analyses to evaluate the structural and performance characteristics of wood products.
• Run parametric, topology, numerical optimization, and benchmarking studies to improve performance, durability, and robustness.
• Analyze simulation, robotic, player-testing, and physical-measurement data to inform engineering decisions.
• Develop computational workflows using scripting, automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Create and modify CAD geometry for simulation, optimization, and prototype development.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Industrial Design, prototype labs, testing teams, and suppliers to transition concepts into manufacturable and validated products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, materials, and mathematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and technical data analysis.
• Basic CAD experience with Siemens NX or an equivalent tool, including model navigation, feature suppression, geometry modification, and analysis preparation.
• Working knowledge of programming or scripting with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
• Proficiency with modern LLM-based tools, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn complex technical processes quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with finite element analysis and CAE tools such as LS-DYNA, HyperMesh/HyperWorks, LS-OPT, OptiStruct, or similar.
• Experience with design optimization, design of experiments, statistical analysis, physical testing, or experimental data.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
• Interest in golf and golf club technology.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience; new graduates with relevant academic or project experience are encouraged to apply.
