Specialist, Credit (Healthcare)

Location: St Paul, Minnesota, United States; minimum 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $51,200–$70,400 annually

What you will do

• Research and resolve credit balances for third-party payers and patients in accordance with payer requirements and internal policies.
• Appeal claims, submit corrected claims, request claim reprocessing, and issue refunds.
• Resolve balances caused by payer recoupments and process payment moves for takebacks and payments.
• Document and follow up on payer explanations of benefits.
• Identify payer trends and communicate issues to leaders.
• Provide subject matter expertise to accounts receivable, billing, collections, and cash applications teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of medical collections and/or billing experience.
• Knowledge of third-party payer requirements; DME supplier experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of billing, cash, collections, and other revenue cycle functions.
• Strong organization, prioritization, communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
