Lead System Engineer (Defense)

Location: Airbus site in Immenstaad am Bodensee, Germany; travel as needed to coordinate with teams, stakeholders, and clients.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary technical teams across multiple sites.
• Decompose complex systems into subsystems and components.
• Manage requirements engineering, testing, project schedules, and execution plans.
• Make technical and strategic decisions to resolve issues and drive project progress.
• Monitor quality and progress, report status, and apply agile methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with defense industry standards and coordinate with stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of systems engineering experience, preferably in the defense or automotive industry.
• Expertise in system breakdown, requirements engineering, and testing.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing projects across multiple sites.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Familiarity with defense industry standards and practices; knowledge of Scrum and SAFe is beneficial.
