Research Scientist (AI) Junior/Junior+

Location: Worldwide, remote within time zones from GMT-2 to GMT+5. Relocation support is available to hubs in Serbia, Georgia, Mexico, or Colombia.

What you will do

• Train self-supervised models on discrete sequences and improve state-of-the-art results for financial applications.
• Develop models for credit risk, transaction anti-fraud, acquisition, and LTV forecasting.
• Apply current NLP and deep learning techniques to fintech models and work with multimodal datasets including tabular, behavioral, transactional, device, network, text, time-series, and graph data.
• Optimize compute utilization for model training and inference.
• Own research solutions end-to-end, from data collection and experiments through training, inference optimization, and impact evaluation.
• Conduct rigorous evaluations, write research articles, and speak at industry conferences.

Requirements

• Degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, or another strong quantitative field.
• Strong foundations in machine learning and deep learning, with hands-on experience building and experimenting with models using PyTorch and LLMs.
• Understanding of dataset design and data mixing for deep learning training.
• Ability to maximize compute utilization and efficiently run experiments to validate research ideas.
• Strong communication skills, autonomy, and ownership.

Nice to have

• Published research in machine learning or deep learning.
• Personal or startup experience in AI, machine learning, or deep learning.
• Internship experience in research, ML, or DL teams.
• English at B1 level or higher.
