Junior Content Strategist (Sport)

What you will do

• Support the planning and delivery of the always-on sports content calendar.
• Write and curate editorial content for the Sports Direct blog using insights, commercial priorities, and SEO/GEO best practices.
• Maintain consistency in brand voice and visual tone across campaigns, platforms, and categories such as running, football, and training.
• Adapt and format content for CRM, paid media, retail, social, and web channels.
• Interview athletes, experts, and talent, and contribute copy and ideas to campaigns.
• Edit, proofread, and brief internal and external writers while tracking editorial deadlines.

Requirements

• Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone across different brand voices.
• Strong proofreading and editing skills, with attention to copy and visual storytelling.
• Organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Creative, collaborative, proactive, and willing to learn.
• Understanding of SEO principles and interest in digital content trends, including AI.
• Cultural awareness and a passion for sport.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI tools that support content creation.
• Experience with CMS platforms or digital publishing tools.
• Previous experience in sport.
