Senior Fullstack Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in Mexico, including Cabo San Lucas, Cancún, Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey.

Annual compensation: MX$950K–MX$1.2M, plus equity.

What you will do

• Architect ambiguous product problems into scoped tasks for agents and own full-stack features from design through production release.
• Design and operate agent orchestration systems that ship real product features.
• Design durable APIs and data models and contribute to service reliability.
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Augment, or equivalent, while critically reviewing generated code.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to identify specification gaps, surface edge cases, and determine when work is ready to ship.
• Set quality standards through code reviews, test coverage, maintainable code, and prevention of AI-introduced production bugs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional development using Java and/or JavaScript, with a meaningful record of shipping production systems.
• Strong backend fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, SQL, service reliability, and production debugging.
• Demonstrated daily use of AI coding tools in a production engineering workflow.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for logic errors, security issues, maintainability, and ownership of all merged code.
• Strong system design judgment covering trade-offs, edge cases, scaling, and failure modes.
• Clear communication, including explaining technical decisions, identifying gaps in specifications, and disagreeing constructively.
• Interest in Elixir or functional programming languages as the stack expands.

Nice to have

• Experience building B2B SaaS products, especially complex multi-tenant data models or transactional workflows.
• Experience on small, high-output teams requiring independent architectural decisions.
• Frontend experience with Angular or modern JavaScript frameworks sufficient to own features end to end.
• Background in travel, hospitality, or the experiences industry.
