Backend Engineer (Billing)

Location: Remote within Europe

hirify.global builds payment orchestration and financial infrastructure for internet businesses, including billing, subscriptions, chargeback management, fraud prevention, and indirect tax solutions.

What you will do

• Design and ship the foundational Products & Prices domain model and public APIs for Billing 2.0.
• Build high-precision volume and graduated pricing engines for multi-tier enterprise billing.
• Decouple critical services from the Products API to improve platform uptime and eliminate single points of failure.
• Build and lead an automated retry engine across invoices to support end-to-end revenue recovery.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end automated tests.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of backend engineering experience with Go, PHP, Kotlin, Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Experience covering code with unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests.
• Strong understanding of high-load system design principles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and queues or streams.
• Proactive, communicative, independent, and result-oriented approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment systems, fintech, or financial services.
• Kafka and AWS experience.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
