Photographer/Editor

Location: Houston, Texas; must be willing to work in the McAllen, Texas area. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Shoot and edit news and feature stories for daily network news broadcasts.
• Visualize reporter- and producer-led stories using HD cameras, professional lighting, and strong shot composition.
• Collaborate with producers and reporters on series, special reports, and long-form content.
• Support pre-production and post-production activities.
• Manage live transmissions using LiveU, satellite trucks, or local microwave systems.
• Maintain broadcast equipment and complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a photographer or camera operator in the field.
• At least 2 years of experience as an editor.
• Proficiency with Avid Media Composer 6.0, Mac operating systems, Sony HD professional broadcast cameras, and SLR cameras.
• Experience sending stories via wireless technology and managing or assisting live transmissions.
• Proficiency in HD lighting and shot composition.
• Full fluency in written and verbal English and Spanish is required.
