Director, Trade Compliance (Semiconductor)

Location: Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $167,100–$247,310 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a global trade compliance team of 14+ professionals across multiple geographies.
• Design, implement, test, and scale export and import compliance systems, processes, and procedures.
• Oversee compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, CBP regulations, technology-transfer rules, and restricted-party screening requirements.
• Manage import, customs, classification, country-of-origin, valuation, broker, free-trade agreement, and trusted-trader activities.
• Own compliance metrics, KPIs, investigations, audits, monitoring, corrective actions, and M&A due diligence.
• Partner with counsel and cross-functional stakeholders on licensing, regulatory filings, training, communications, and AI-driven automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree is optional.
• Extensive hands-on trade compliance experience across transactions, technology transfer, tariffs, classification, and program management.
• Semiconductor or related advanced-technology experience is required.
• Proven experience managing and scaling global trade compliance teams, systems implementations, and budgets.
• Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, executive presence, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Applicants must be eligible to access technology and software subject to U.S. export control laws; some applicants may undergo an export license review.
