Senior Director, Trade Compliance (Semiconductor)

Location: Irvine, California, United States

Base pay: $192,100–$284,270 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a global team of more than 14 trade compliance and trade operations professionals.
• Design, implement, test, and scale global export and import compliance systems, processes, and procedures.
• Oversee compliance with export controls, technology-transfer rules, sanctions, restricted-party screening, customs, and trade facilitation requirements.
• Manage ECCN and HTS classification, country-of-origin determinations, valuation, broker relationships, duty mitigation, and trusted-trader programs.
• Own compliance metrics, investigations, audits, corrective actions, training, communications, and M&A due diligence support.
• Evaluate AI-driven automation and other technology tools while partnering with counsel and business functions on licensing, regulatory filings, and risk-based compliance strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree is a plus.
• Extensive hands-on experience across trade compliance, including transactions, technology transfer, tariffs, ECCN/HTS classification, and program management.
• Experience managing and scaling global trade compliance teams, systems implementations, and budgets.
• Semiconductor or related advanced-technology industry experience required.
• Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders in a complex matrixed organization.
• Applicants must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology and software; export license review may be required.

• Licensed customs broker credential.
• Technical or engineering background.
