TL;DR
Data Engineering Principal (Fashion) (Python/Spark/Azure): Leading the architecture and delivery of scalable data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, data products, and analytics services for a fashion technology platform with an accent on cloud architecture, data governance, and production-scale data engineering. Focus on designing Azure-based data solutions, integrating data science outputs such as recommendation systems, and coaching teams while aligning technical delivery with business needs.

What you will do
- Lead and implement client technology roadmaps in alignment with broader architecture plans.
- Own solution architecture and ensure technical and non-technical components work together to meet customer needs.
- Lead digital development and operations using Python, Spark, RESTful APIs, and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Deliver data platforms, data insights, dashboards, data lakes and hubs, and data products such as recommendation systems.
- Steer technical excellence, engineering standards, testing practices, and architectural consistency.
- Coach product team members and lead project activities with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in a similar role, including developing and deploying ETL solutions on Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data transformation, data profiling, data governance, and production ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Azure experience, including Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Functions, App Logic, and streaming analytics services.
- Advanced SQL, Python with PySpark, Bash, cloud architecture, GitHub or similar tools, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with automated unit and integration testing, people management for at least two team members, service consulting, and stakeholder management.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with Airflow, Kubernetes, Great Expectations, and Power BI.
- Experience with data insights and modern Lambda and Kappa architectures.
