Compounding Pharmacy Technician

What you will do

• Perform general non-sterile compounding under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Measure materials and chemicals, prepare accurate dosage forms, and label finished prescription products.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment and electronic compounding software.
• Monitor the compounding environment, maintain pharmacy logs, manage inventory, and clean the compounding area.
• Follow HIPAA confidentiality requirements, quality assurance procedures, standard operating procedures, and USP <795> and <800> standards.
• Handle customer questions, collaborate with pharmacy staff, and manage high-volume periods and rush orders.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and hold the appropriate pharmacy technician license for the state of practice, along with any required credentials.
• Have strong math skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Complete N95 respirator fit testing with an outside vendor; facial hair may prevent a proper seal.
• Have no active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions on licenses or certifications relevant to the role.
• Be able to work with small, delicate machinery, wear required PPE, lift at least 25 pounds, and stand or work in varied positions for extended periods.
• Have adequate visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity.
