Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Hybrid in Limassol, Cyprus

What you will do

• Develop backend services for the grocery storefront, including catalogs, categories, search, product details, cart, and checkout.
• Build solutions for large, location-dependent assortments with frequently changing prices, inventory, discounts, and availability.
• Validate carts before checkout, including prices, quantities, minimum order values, store restrictions, substitutions, and weighted products.
• Integrate catalog, pricing, inventory, order, payment, and delivery services.
• Onboard grocery partners with different APIs and data models.
• Ensure low latency, high availability, and resilience across customer-facing flows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial backend engineering experience, including work on complex problems in high-load environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of Go and its advanced features.
• Strong SQL skills, including schema design, replication, partitioning, sharding, and query optimization.
• In-depth Redis knowledge and experience using its data structures efficiently in high-load systems.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes or similar tools, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous communication, microservice architecture, reliability engineering, and observability with metrics, logging, dashboards, and tracing.
