Senior Backend Engineer (Grocery)

What you will do

• Develop backend services for a grocery storefront, including catalogs, categories, search, product details, cart, and checkout.
• Handle store-, warehouse-, and user-specific assortments, changing prices, inventory, discounts, and product availability.
• Validate carts before checkout, including prices, availability, quantity limits, minimum order values, and store restrictions.
• Support weighted products, unavailable items, and substitutions in grocery workflows.
• Integrate catalog, pricing, inventory, order, payment, and delivery services while onboarding partners with different APIs and data models.
• Ensure low latency, high availability, resilience, performance, personalization, conversion, and rapid partner integration.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the grocery domain is mandatory.
• 5+ years of commercial backend engineering experience, including solving complex problems in high-load environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of Go, including advanced language features.
• Strong SQL knowledge, including schema design, replication, partitioning, sharding, and query optimization for high-load environments.
• In-depth Redis knowledge, including data structures and efficient use in high-load systems.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes or similar tools, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous inter-service communication focused on reliability in high-load environments.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and efficient client-server interactions, including their limitations.
• Ability to design and implement full observability strategies covering metrics, logging, dashboards, and tracing.
