Postdoctoral Research Associate (Robotics)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; onsite work with hands-on robotic platforms and automated systems

What you will do

• Design, build, and integrate robotic and automated systems, including end-effectors, manipulators, and sensor-actuator networks.
• Lead mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic design activities, including CAD, prototyping, fabrication, and assembly.
• Integrate cameras, depth sensors, environmental sensors, motor drivers, microcontrollers, and other embedded hardware.
• Implement AI methods for crop sensing, growth analysis, stress monitoring, and intelligent climate control.
• Collaborate on research studies, data collection and analysis, peer-reviewed publications, and scientific presentations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Agricultural, Biosystems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in robotics, automation, and mechatronic systems.
• Peer-reviewed publications in robotics, automation, embedded control systems, or related agricultural applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work cooperatively with others.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with mobile robots, robotic arms, and automated systems.
• Mechanical design and prototyping experience, including CAD, fabrication, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience with embedded systems, motor control, and sensor integration.
• Proficiency with ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, or Unity.
