Software Engineer - CAN UDS (Automotive)

Location: Bangalore, Kalyani Platina, HII Engineering; onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Validate software updates for vehicle ECUs and connected vehicle systems.
• Perform vehicle-level testing in test benches, HIL environments, and real vehicles.
• Plan, design, and execute test cases for OTA and workshop-based software updates.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing before software releases.
• Analyze logs, traces, defects, and update failures; support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development, system integration, cybersecurity, and vehicle testing teams.

Requirements

• Experience with software update and release validation processes in automotive systems.
• Knowledge of OTA technologies and UDS according to ISO 14229.
• Experience with CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Vector tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
• Experience with Python or CAPL scripting, automated test suites, test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
• Experience with Git, configuration management, and analysis of DLT logs, Wireshark traces, and software update failure reports; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lua scripting.
• Knowledge of Robot Framework or other test automation frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale data systems.
