Senior Medical Director, Hematology/Oncology (Clinical Research)

Location: Home-based in the United States or Canada

Salary: $186,300–$519,000 annualized base pay

What you will do

• Provide strategic medical, scientific, and operational oversight across global hematology and oncology clinical research programs.
• Serve as Medical Monitor and the primary medical interface for sponsors, investigative sites, and study teams.
• Review protocols, eligibility criteria, informed consent materials, investigator brochures, eCRFs, analysis plans, clinical study reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Oversee patient safety, including adverse event evaluation, critical clinical data review, safety reporting, and unblinding procedures when required.
• Support site selection, investigator engagement, patient recruitment and retention, study-team training, and medical monitoring plan development.
• Contribute to proposal development, feasibility assessments, client presentations, scientific literature reviews, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• MD from an accredited, internationally recognized medical school.
• 5–7+ years of clinical experience as a licensed physician in oncology, hematology, surgical oncology, or urology with an oncologic focus.
• At least 3 years of clinical research experience as a study physician, investigator, or within a pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotech environment.
• Board certification or eligibility in the relevant therapeutic area is strongly preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and matrixed global teams while managing complex priorities independently.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex medical concepts into actionable insights.
