Adjunct Instructor - Professional or Technical Writing (Professional or Technical Writing)

Location: Stephenville, Texas; teaching assignments may be at the Stephenville or Fort Worth campuses, in person, through approved instructional modalities, or online.

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and deliver professional or technical writing instruction to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop syllabi, select instructional materials, and design exams, quizzes, papers, and other assessments.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Engage students through active learning, discussion, collaboration, hands-on activities, and innovative instructional technologies.
• Provide office hours, academic guidance, assignment feedback, and mentoring.
• Follow university policies, academic integrity standards, accreditation requirements, and Campus Security Authority responsibilities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Professional or Technical Writing or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• At least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to teach in person or through approved instructional modalities according to student demand.
• Successful completion of credential verification and a criminal history investigation.

Nice to have

• Doctorate or terminal degree in Professional or Technical Writing or a closely related field.
• Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.

• Temporary, part-time appointments assigned per semester on an as-needed basis.
