English to Spanish - Legal Documentation Translator and Editor

What you will do

• Translate legal and law-enforcement documents from English into Spanish.
• Edit affidavits, depositions, and other legal documentation using accurate terminology in both languages.
• Transcribe audio files involving legal and law-enforcement subject matter.
• Follow government client style guides, quality standards, and domain-specific terminology.
• Review and certify the quality of other translators’ work as needed.
• Recreate source formatting in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and willingness to complete documentation, fingerprinting, and the required U.S. security clearance process.
• At least two years of experience translating and editing legal documentation.
• ATA, NAJIT, or ProZ certification for English-to-Spanish translation.
• Advanced English and Spanish proficiency at ILR level 3 or higher across reading, speaking, listening, and writing.
• Availability for at least 15 hours per week to accept assignments.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAT tools such as Trados Studio.
