NPI Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, Ireland

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate new product introductions, covering product design, process validation, equipment layout, and regulatory alignment.
• Develop and optimize catheter manufacturing processes, including extrusion, moulding, balloon forming, braiding, packaging, and assembly.
• Manage design control activities, including verification and validation, clinical trial support, and technical documentation.
• Design manufacturing cells and workflows that meet cost, quality, and productivity targets.
• Support testing, equipment evaluation, quality control, technician and operator training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical input for quotations and cost estimates; senior engineers may also mentor and manage production and engineering personnel.

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Polymer, Biomedical, Mechanical, Design Engineering, or a related discipline, or a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, manufacturing, or automation.
• 2–3 years of experience in new product introduction, manufacturing, quality, or process engineering, preferably in catheter manufacturing.
• Project management experience related to new product introductions, ideally within the medical device industry.
• Knowledge of catheter manufacturing processes and relevant quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and energy management requirements.
• An Associate-level position may be available for candidates with limited experience, with guidance from an experienced engineer.
