Senior Infrastructure Service Desk Engineer

What you will do

• Provide advanced support for on-premises and hybrid customer infrastructure across servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and Microsoft platforms.
• Administer Windows Server services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, file and print services, and Exchange.
• Provision, monitor, troubleshoot, patch, and tune virtual servers across VMware, Hyper-V, and other hypervisors.
• Support switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, LAN/WAN connectivity, and core infrastructure service availability.
• Administer backup and storage platforms, investigate backup failures, and support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Resolve complex incidents, participate in major incident response, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or advanced service desk roles, preferably in an MSP environment.
• Hands-on experience with on-premises infrastructure, Windows Server, networking, virtualization, and mixed customer environments.
• Experience with backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, Cove, Rubrik, or similar, plus SAN/NAS storage.
• Microsoft 365 administration across Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint, with basic Azure exposure in hybrid environments.
• PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; Microsoft, vendor, or ITIL certifications are valued.

Nice to have

• Experience with security tooling, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, RMM, and PSA platforms such as N-central and Autotask.
• SharePoint administration and hybrid Microsoft environment experience.
• Data centre experience with hardware support, racking, stacking, and physical infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and service delivery frameworks.
