Quality Assurance Tester (Localization)

What you will do

• Execute functional, usability, exploratory, regression, sanity, and cross-device testing across iOS, Android, web browsers, desktops, and physical smart home and health devices.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and exploratory scenarios for new features and bug fixes.
• Validate internationalization support, including Unicode and UTF-8 handling, string externalization, hardcoded-string detection, RTL layouts, variable expansion, and locale-aware sorting and filtering.
• Verify localized interfaces for translation accuracy, date and time formats, currency symbols, address layouts, pluralization, text truncation, wrapping, and font rendering.
• Conduct pseudo-localization builds and compatibility testing across system versions, screen resolutions, and hardware specifications.
• Document and reproduce defects in Jira, Azure DevOps, or Buganizer with logs, reproduction steps, screenshots, and video recordings; manage localization workflows in TMS tools.

Requirements

• Hands-on internationalization and localization testing experience is required, including time zones, regional locales, unit conversions, and UI text rendering.
• Solid QA experience on mobile devices or web browsers, with knowledge of manual, exploratory, functional, and regression testing.
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, QA best practices, and test planning.
• Knowledge of UTF-8, UTF-16, ICU, CLDR, JSON, XML, PO, STRINGS, XLIFF, and BiDi/RTL layout handling.
• Experience testing iOS and Android ecosystems, physical devices, and cloud device platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or Kobiton.
• Professional English proficiency is required. Familiarity with API debugging tools, accessibility testing, basic automation concepts, IoT devices, wearables, or embedded systems is expected or useful for the role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Smartling, Phrase, Crowdin, Transifex, or Lokalise.
• Familiarity with Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Postman, TestFlight, Xcode logs, ADB, Logcat, and APK installation.
• Fluency or native-level proficiency in additional languages.
• Knowledge of WCAG, VoiceOver, TalkBack, and regional regulatory, privacy, or cultural standards in EMEA, APAC, or LATAM.
