What you will do

• Design fine-tuning and adaptation strategies for downstream robotic tasks and embodiments.
• Develop methods to improve robot reliability, robustness, and controllability.
• Build evaluation frameworks that measure real-world robot performance beyond offline metrics.
• Optimize inference-time performance, including latency, stability, and memory footprint.
• Leverage techniques such as imitation learning, RL, distillation, and synthetic data.
• Close the loop between model outputs and physical-world outcomes.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo) or Boston (Somerville) for on-site work.
• Experience with fine-tuning large models for downstream tasks (RLHF, IL, RL, distillation, domain adaptation).
• Background in embodied AI, robotics, or real-world ML systems.
• Strong ability to debug across the ML stack, from loss curves to physical robot behavior.
• Passion for evaluation, benchmarking, and failure analysis.
• Experience with rapid iteration and real-world feedback loops.
