What you will do

• Perform underwriting assessments for new business, policy changes, and claims cases in line with service-level agreements, guidelines, and authority limits.
• Apply the underwriting philosophy to evaluate individual insurance risks and handle complex cases independently.
• Maintain current product knowledge, market awareness, and technical underwriting expertise through professional development and collaboration with reinsurers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies while communicating effectively with sales teams, partners, and customers.
• Improve underwriting efficiency by adopting modern approaches and technologies.
• Coach and mentor junior underwriters and act as a subject matter expert on medical underwriting assignments.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience in underwriting.
• Extensive experience with medical and critical illness products.
• Strong technical and medical underwriting knowledge, with proven underwriting authority.
• Experience handling complex cases independently and making sound underwriting and claims decisions.
• Strong market knowledge, analytical skills, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to improve underwriting processes and embrace innovation.
