Sr. Azure Security Engineer

What you will do

• Architect, implement, and continuously improve the security posture of Microsoft Azure environments in line with financial-services regulatory requirements.
• Configure and manage Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Blueprints, Management Groups, and continuous security monitoring.
• Own Entra ID security, including PIM, Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and privileged identity management.
• Lead Sentinel SIEM/SOAR implementation by developing detection rules, playbooks, and automation workflows.
• Design network security using NSGs, Azure Firewall, DDoS Protection, Private Endpoints, and hub-spoke architectures.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, incident response, root-cause analysis, executive reporting, and security mentoring.

Requirements

• 7+ years of information security experience, including 4+ years focused on Azure cloud security in a regulated industry.
• Deep expertise in Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure Firewall, NSGs, and Azure Policy.
• Strong knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOX, GLBA, FFIEC, and NIST CSF frameworks.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Bicep/ARM templates, and Terraform.
• Experience implementing zero-trust architecture in enterprise Azure environments, with knowledge of PKI, cryptography, and secrets management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience; AZ-500 certification is required.

Nice to have

• Microsoft SC-200 certification, plus CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CEH.
• Experience with DORA, MAS TRM, or OCC guidelines.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud security and cross-cloud SIEM integrations.
• Background in investment banking, retail banking, or insurance.
