Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer (DeltaV/PLC)

What you will do

• Lead automation technical projects for clinical and commercial plant automation and capital construction programs.
• Develop and maintain process control solutions using Emerson DeltaV DCS, Rockwell PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and virtual server infrastructure.
• Design, build, commission, and qualify manufacturing equipment and systems for drug substance and drug product operations.
• Perform root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting for process control and plant automation issues.
• Support operational readiness, document reviews, deviation investigations, change controls, and automation lifecycle management.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, environmental sustainability, and data integrity.

Requirements

• Doctorate, or a master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, bachelor's degree with 4 years, associate's degree with 8 years, or high school diploma/GED with 10 years of manufacturing automation systems engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell Automation SCADA and PLC platforms, PI, virtual server infrastructure, and field instrumentation.
• At least 3 years of combined experience with DeltaV DCS, Rockwell SCADA/PLC, electronic batch reporting, process control networks, virtual infrastructure, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience with OPC, Profibus, DeviceNet, and compliance standards including 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, S95, and GAMP.
• Experience with process control engineering, GMP biopharmaceutical production equipment, automation integration, commissioning, qualification, and capital project lifecycle management.
• Strong leadership, technical writing, communication, facilitation, collaboration, organization, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, chemical engineering, or biotechnology engineering.
• Experience with upstream and downstream unit operations and process control strategies for new products.
