Marketing Technical Editor (Engineering)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States

Pay range: $32.06–$47.38 USD hourly

What you will do

• Copyedit and proofread solution flyers, webpages, emails, technical papers, presentations, and other marketing content.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, designers, writers, and other editors to ensure content is accurate and clear.
• Rewrite content to align with SEL’s tone, voice, brand philosophy, and goals.
• Maintain consistency across projects while meeting stringent deadlines.

Requirements

• Degree in English, technical communications, or a related field.
• Advanced proofreading, writing, grammar, and communication skills.
• Professional experience as a technical editor, copyeditor, or in a similar technical writing or editing role.
• Ability to work under limited supervision in high-pressure situations and incorporate editorial and technical feedback.
• Ability to work in Pullman, Washington.

Nice to have

• Experience editing complex technical documentation or working with high-tech or engineering firms.
• Experience with desktop publishing software.
• Experience with technical drawing software such as MS Visio.
• Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual.
