Senior Engineer, Data Engineering & Analytics

Location: Remote in the United States; associated with Naperville, Illinois

Salary: $87,000–$140,239 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement complex, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software features and systems.
• Own technical solutions from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Lead technical design discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and guide engineering decisions.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with product managers, designers, QA, and engineering teams.
• Use logs, metrics, and analytics to improve observability, performance, reliability, and system health.
• Mentor engineers, support onboarding, and improve engineering practices, tools, and workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with data engineering technologies including SQL, Python, and Spark.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Deep knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, governance, and integration best practices.
• Strong experience with MLOps, analytics platforms, and BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Ability to define technical vision, influence architecture strategy, mentor senior engineers, and connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, system design, testing, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
