Quality Manager (Semiconductor Construction)

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and enforce project quality management plans, inspection and test plans, quality procedures, inspection checklists, and turnover requirements.
• Lead QA/QC oversight for wet mechanical and process-utility scopes, including high-purity and process piping, DI/UPW, chemical, gas, HVAC, MEP, and tool hook-up interfaces.
• Conduct or witness material inspections, fit-up and welding inspections, pressure and leak testing, passivation, flushing, cleanliness verification, and final system inspections.
• Review drawings, P&IDs, specifications, submittals, welding documents, test packages, certifications, and traceability records.
• Manage nonconformance reports, punch lists, corrective actions, rework verification, quality trends, and escalation items.
• Compile turnover packages, quality dossiers, test records, commissioning documentation, and handover deliverables while coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, commissioning teams, and client representatives.

Requirements

• At least five years of QA/QC experience on construction projects, including direct experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, high-tech manufacturing, industrial, or process-utility construction.
• Direct experience with wet mechanical, process piping, high-purity piping, material traceability, testing, and turnover documentation.
• Engineering degree, technical trade background, journeyman-level credential, or equivalent field-based QA/QC experience.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, applicable SEMI standards, NFPA and IBC requirements, cleanroom standards, pressure and leak testing, passivation, welding, and orbital welding.
• Experience developing quality plans, inspection and test plans, inspection records, turnover packages, NCRs, punch lists, corrective actions, and rework verification.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work onsite, conduct field walks, support active construction and commissioning, and wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor fab construction, cleanroom build-outs, tool installation, process utilities, or high-tech manufacturing expansions.
• Experience with orbital welding, weld mapping, high-purity tubing, chemical distribution, gas systems, DI water, UPW, PCW, CDA, wastewater, exhaust, abatement, HVAC, or mechanical utilities.
• Experience coordinating third-party inspectors, testing agencies, commissioning teams, client quality representatives, and subcontractor quality teams.
• Experience with TSMC, Micron, Intel, Samsung, or similar semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese communication skills.
