Digital Content Creator

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; onsite newsroom role with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and any shift.

Salary: $16.50–$17.50 per hour, based on experience and skills.

What you will do

• Write, edit, aggregate, and publish news stories for digital platforms.
• Create and adapt videos, photographs, graphics, and multimedia elements for different platforms.
• Gather information through research, interviews, professional experience, and event attendance.
• Manage and publish content across web content management systems and social media platforms.
• Perform copy editing and quality control across digital channels.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom.

Requirements

• Strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of AP style.
• Knowledge of online news journalism and digital content best practices.
• Basic photography, videography, and editing skills for digital delivery.
• Proficiency with web content management systems and Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
• Ability to work any shift, including nights and weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism and newsroom experience preferred.

Nice to have

• Basic graphic design experience with Photoshop and Adobe Express.
