TL;DR
Senior Web Developer (AI): Building and maintaining client websites, CMS functionality, integrations and reusable components with an accent on responsive development, performance, accessibility and AI-native workflows. Focus on integrating APIs and third-party platforms, troubleshooting unfamiliar codebases, managing deployments, and evaluating agentic development approaches.
Location: Remote; preference for US West Coast, US East Coast, or locations with substantial overlap with the US working day

What you will do
- Develop and maintain client websites across modern CMS platforms, including new builds, redesigns, migrations and replatforming projects.
- Build responsive pages, templates and reusable components from Figma designs.
- Develop custom CMS functionality, editorial workflows and integrations with REST APIs, CRMs, analytics tools and third-party platforms.
- Troubleshoot inherited codebases and CMS configurations while improving performance, accessibility, security and technical SEO.
- Scope work, estimate effort, identify technical risks, and manage delivery through testing, deployment and post-launch support.
- Collaborate with Design, SEO, Digital, Data Science and R&D teams, while reviewing and supporting other developers.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing content-managed websites.
- Advanced HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills.
- Strong experience with at least three major CMS platforms, such as WordPress, Webflow, Contentful, Sanity, Builder.io or Shopify.
- Experience with reusable templates, components, content models, REST APIs, Git workflows, staging and production deployments.
- Strong understanding of responsive development, browser compatibility, debugging, web performance, accessibility and security.
- Strong written and spoken English and substantial overlap with the US working day are required.
Nice to have
- TypeScript, React or Next.js experience.
- Headless and composable CMS architectures, custom WordPress themes, plugins and Gutenberg blocks.
- Cloudflare, DNS, caching, hosting infrastructure, localisation and multisite environments.
- Google Tag Manager, GA4, consent management, technical SEO, structured data, CI/CD and automated testing.
- Agency experience and work with high-traffic or enterprise websites.
