Director, Legal - Commercial (Transportation)

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid with at least two days per week in the Beverly headquarters. Fully remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates, with periodic travel to Beverly required.

What you will do

• Establish and manage commercial alliances, partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic relationships.
• Lead deal structuring and draft and negotiate transportation equipment services agreements, LOIs, teaming arrangements, and license and lease agreements.
• Support vehicle electrification-as-a-service RFP responses, pilot programs, product development, stationary storage, and energy optimization projects.
• Advise executives, sales, origination, and market development stakeholders on commercial strategy and contract-related issues.
• Support financing and M&A transactions, due diligence, and outside counsel management.
• Develop scalable contracting strategies, tools, training materials, and supervise attorneys or legal professionals.

Requirements

• 6+ years of practicing attorney experience, including law firm and in-house roles.
• JD and membership in at least one U.S. state bar; Massachusetts bar membership is preferred.
• Excellent commercial negotiation and contract drafting skills, with strong business judgment and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising attorneys or legal professionals and managing multiple matters simultaneously.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in transportation, fleet leasing, or energy services, including power purchase agreements, battery storage, or energy savings contracts.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment.
