What you will do

• Design and execute statistical aspects of clinical development, medical affairs, and Japan post-marketing surveillance studies.
• Perform statistical analyses, exploratory analyses, graphics, interpretation, reporting, and publication-support activities.
• Optimize study and trial designs through scenario simulations, sample size calculations, and advanced statistical methodologies.
• Support regulatory commitments, program planning, troubleshooting, and decision-making activities.
• Collaborate with Statistics & Decision Sciences, Quantitative Sciences & Clinical Pharmacology, clinical teams, CROs, consultants, and other partners.
• Represent Statistics & Decision Sciences in cross-functional teams, working groups, standards initiatives, and scientific forums.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field with relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with commensurate relevant experience.
• Proficiency in SAS and R programming, with experience using other relevant computational tools such as East Horizon, RPACT, FACTS, or Python.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical research and development, clinical trials, statistical methodology, and applicable health authority standards.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary contexts and communicate complex statistical concepts to non-statistical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally less than 10% of the time.
